There are five main heat treatment processes for auto parts: annealing and normalizing, quenching, tempering, aging and quenching and tempering, surface quenching, and chemical heat treatment. Today, the editor will mainly introduce several commonly used heat treatment processes for auto parts.

1. Carburizing heat treatment of auto parts

The purpose of carburizing heat treatment is mainly to make the parts obtain good fatigue resistance and wear resistance, and to ensure the reliability of the performance of the parts. Generally, the differential gears, transmission shaft gear parts, steering gear shaft gear parts, engine pistons and gear parts of automobile drive axles need carburizing heat treatment.

2. quenching and tempering heat treatment of auto parts

The quenching and tempering heat treatment of auto parts can be divided into protective atmosphere quenching and tempering heat treatment and general quenching and tempering heat treatment. The protective atmosphere quenching and tempering heat treatment can ensure that the parts will not produce surface oxidation, shedding and other defects during the heat treatment process, and ensure the surface quality of the parts. If the tempered parts require subsequent processing, general heat treatment is performed.
